Macau + Hong Kong Holiday Tour

Macau + Hong Holiday Tour

Celebrating Christmas and New Year's Eve wont be the same without your family. Each year, I went back home to my family in Cagayan de Oro to celebrate the Christmas and welcoming the New Year as well as celebrating Mom's Birthday on the New Year's Eve.

But this time, unfortunately it didn't happen because as what I have promise to my self that I should travel abroad atleast once a year. So when Cebu Pacific Air has its Anniversay Piso sale in March 2016, I immediately grabbed the chance and booked a flight to the one of the world’s most dramatic skylines lights up every year with a display of fireworks that grows more impressive every year, concluding with a dazzling finale: a pyrotechnic dragon that dances across the sky - Hong Kong.

Total fare was ₱3,355.00 (MNL - MCU, MCU - MNL).

MACAU

Since I haven't gone to Macau yet, I decided to make it my entry and exit to add up to my experience. As they said, Macau is also known as 'Little Las Vegas' or 'Las Vegas of the East' or 'The Sin City' because of the Casinos and gambling. Anyway, you may check out my Macau Day Tour as I explore what Macau has to offer.

Accommodation

Being on holiday tour, it is expected that room rates might be higher than the usual rate. I booked and stayed at Holiday Hotel via Ctrip for just HKD 450. It is located at Estrada do Repouso, No. 36-38, a few blocks away from Ruins of St. Paul. Listed as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Historic Center of Macau in 2005.

Transportation

To/From Airport, you can ride shuttle bus for FREE going to Casinos around Macau. I suggest, take a shuttle bus that stops to your intended destination.

HONG KONG

From Macau, you can take ferry either TurboJet or Cotai Water Jet, just take note the time schedule and price rates so that you can still catch the trip. Anyway, on my second visit in Hong Kong, I was able to visit some places that I never been to before. And also, it was my longest trip ever made abroad.

Visit my first trip in Hong Kong.

Accommodation

Since it was holiday, most of the rooms was fully booked and it wasn't easy to find a cheap one that allows me to stay for more than a day. So what I did is to find a room good for 1 day then transfer to another room the next day.

On my first day, I booked and stayed at Star Light Hotel via Ctrip for just CNY 97. It is located at Flat B8, Block B, 15/F Chung King Mansion,36-44 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon.

For the next thee days, I stayed at Kuya Ian's flat for ₱1000.00 per day. It is located at Wing Fong Mansion, 107-117 Second St, Sai Ying Pun, Hong Kong. I met him at DIY Travel Philippines Facebook Page.

On the next day, I transfer to Safari Guest House which I booked via Agoda for just ₱730.00. It is located at (Reception @ Flat C6, Block C, 7/F) Flat C6, Block C, 7/F & Flat D8, Block D, 4/F, Chungking Mansions, 40 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, Hong Kong.

Transportation

If your just planning to roam around Hong Kong and stay for  few minutes and take a snap of photo per destination then you must avail Tourist Day Pass Card. You can have it for just HKD 65 at MTR station. This gives you one day unlimited travel on MTR and Light Rial (except Airport Express, MTR Bus, East Rail Line First Class and travel to/from Lo Wu Station or Lok Ma Chau Station).
