Head turner: How to be a selfie expert

Morning Selfie

"A good photograph is knowing where to stand."
-Ansel Adams

Who could not agree that everytime we travel we feel the urge to capture the moment. And even if we are just bored we are fond of taking a photo of ourselves.

Nowadays, we are fond of taking selfies simply because it has become a trend that everyone seems to be doing may you be a celebrity, teen or regular housemate, I mean person. But we must be prepared before taking that ultimate selfies to capture the perfect momentum.

Now here are useful tips to capture that perfect moment and be a selfie expert:

1. The light should be right

Pose in an area with beautiful lighting - either indoor or outdoor. How to know if the lighting looks good on your face? See yourself in front of the camera, turn 90 degrees, make note of the lighting and the background, keep on turning until you see the best spot. If you cannot see the best spot then you may want to try at a different place or time of the day. Best time to take picture is after sunrise but before sunset.

2. Use Apps to enhance your smart phone pictures. But do not exaggerate the amendments.

Unfortunately, some events don't happen after sunrise but before sunset, but during night time. But we should not worry because technology has a resolution to that. Changes on the original photo either by adjusting the brightness, contrast or make the image looks sharper are of some help. Though smart phones do not have the professional capability of a DSLR camera, there are tons of mobile apps to help adjust and enhance your photos to take them to a new level. Altering your photos are needed to enhance the photo quality or to give it a more appealing feel. However, do not overdo the alteration that results to an unrealistic one. It still has to look natural and real.

3. Change the direction and angles

Know your best spot. If you are confident to show up your right part of your face then shot from that side. But most importantly, just be yourself and you will have that confidence to show them the best photograph ever. Because the best angle you could ever capture is when you're at your best.

4. Crop it out

Sometimes, one difficulty with selfies is that the background is busy and distracting. You can solve this by cropping those crap. You can also hold your phone closer to yourself and it will accentuate features on your face that are closer to the lens and minimize those that are further away. This means that your nose will look longer and your eyes smaller. You can also zoom in your phone just slightly and hold the camera away from your face. Now your features look proportionate and you decluttered the background!

5. Invest on a good smartphone.

Oppo F1s

To help you capture an "instagram-worthy selfies" invest on a good smartphone. One awesome smartphone in market today is the OPPO F1s.

Oppo has launched a 16-Megapixel selfie expert camera smartphone called Oppo F1s. The Oppo F1s comes with a 5.5 inch HD (720p) IPS TFT display. It is powered by Mediatek octa core processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, a microSD card slot is also present. Also features a 16-Megapixel front facing camera, a 13-Megapixel rear camera. Other connectivity option includes dual SIM, 4G LTE, GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi, USB and fingerprint scanner at the home button.

Having a good camera phone is very important for any traveler like me. With all the features of Oppo F1s, I would love to have it and bring it with me as I travel to more breathtaking destinations here in the Philippines and abroad.
