As we approach the Holy Week, I decided to visit the very known Cathedral in Tagum City, Davao del Norte - New Christ the King Cathedral. New Christ the King Cathedral is one of the largest Cathedral here in the Philippines and where the World's Largest Rosary can be found! It is located in Gonzales Avenue, Sobrecary St., Magugpo South, Tagum City.
The architectural design of the church is most likely a castle and in the front is the sculpture adorn the frontage of the basilca. On the left side, you will find the 3 men nailed on the cross which they called Calvary Garden. At the back of the church, where you can find the world's largest wooden rosary. It is made of Magcomo or Iron wood that us native to the mountain.
If you are from Davao City and want to visit the very known spot in Tagum, you may take Ceres Bus or UVExpress Van. The fare is depend on the location. If you are from Davao International Airport, the fare is 70php via Ceres Bus and the fare via UVExpress is 60php. I suggested to go there earlier because it will takes 2-3 hours ride going your destination.
