Sagpulon Falls is a natural attraction situated at Barangay San Isidro, in the mountainous part of the municipality of Jasaan, Misamis Oriental. With a towering height of almost 150 ft., its beauty is astounding. Adding to its charm are the streams of water gushing from its walls.
I brought my two little siblings with me to Sagpulon Falls for my another GreegAdventure escapade over the weekend. Since they have not been to any falls yet, I think it would be great idea to let them experience what would it be.
From the entrance, we passed the alternative bamboo bridge along the river and took a big steps on the concrete stairs heading to the falls. After 300 meter walk, we heard the sound of splashing water and loitering crowd.
It was so crowded that day but it does not stop us to take a cottage and rent a life jacket to across the river and experience jumping off the mossy cliff. The water is so cold and sometimes it may cause for cramps - that is why wearing a life jacket is require.
We only jump once because climbing up is really hard and slippery. You really need to be careful on every steps or else you end-up wounded. On the top, it is windy and cold going to the jumping area - but it is a great experience though 😃.
TIPS
- It’s better to visit the falls during summer to see and encounter clearer and bluer waters.
- There’s no store nearby, so don’t forget to bring the necessities.
- Also, there’s no electricity there, thus the area closes every 5 PM.
- You may rent a life jacket for P30
HOW TO GET THERE
Commute a bus bound to Jasaan or northbound, and advise the driver/conductor to drop you off to Spring View Resort, the landmark nearest to the street corner going to the falls. The fare is just P25 and from there, there’s a terminal of habal-habal where you can hire a ride to the falls (you may arrange an agreement if you want to be fetched after) for just P50 per way.
